COVID-19 Safety Measures


Diamond BMX Return to Play Protocols – 2020 Protocols listed below:

Racers must be grouped into mini-teams of 50 participants. Mini-teams include volunteers, officials, and racers who are unable to follow social distancing while participating in the race. Spectators/Parents/Guardians who maintain social distancing at all times are also allowable up to 50 people. All riders will have to sign up for practices/club races online with parent/guardian name who will be attending with them. (where applicable). Anyone who is not signed up prior, will need to leave the track and spectator area.


  • Two Parent/guardians to a maximum of 50 can attend with a rider from the immediate family

  • Parent/guardians will have a pre-determined area that will be flagged to ensure proper social distancing for seating, rider water breaks, and spectating area. (This area is per household) Please bring your own fluids for riding and do not share foods, liquids, water bottles or tools.

  • Parents/riders must not come more than 10 minutes prior to practice/race times and must not loiter after club activities are complete.

  • Parents/riders need to maintain distance from other riders/parents as they make their way to and from the track including noncontact check ins.

  • Parents/riders must have their own hand sanitizer to use before and after participation.

  • Board members will be only ones to use, unload, load, setup and sanitize equipment we will be using Clorox bleach diluted solution or Spray Nine which have been approved by the government of Canada.

  • Board members, specified parent/guardians and a specified First Aid person will be the only volunteers allowed on the track.

    • Anyone administering first aid will be required to wear a mask and gloves (or any other PPE that is required as per the Government of Saskatchewan regulations) before assisting the injured party, followed by standard procedures for hand hygiene.

    • Hand sanitizer will be provided at the shed for volunteers

    • A standard first aid kit is provided

  • Registration shed will remain closed and only current board members are permitted to use/operate equipment.

  • Registration will occur online the day prior and check in will be contactless and maintain social distancing.

  • Registration check in will be positioned so that as riders/parents arrive at the top of the hill by the shed, riders can be positioned for briefing and parents can be directed to spectator/gear area section.

  • Staging area will be marked with flag tape so that riders know how to remain distanced and are able to funnel up to the starting gate while remaining 2m apart

  • Parents will be allowed to stand with rider if they need assistance and will be able to assist in the gate.

  • Board members will do track volunteering unless we are short or need first aid, hand sanitizer will be provided for volunteers.


  • Only current Diamond BMX 2020 members that hold a valid SCA cycling licence will be allowed to participate in practices/club races

  • No one-time use insurance waivers will be provided, and no walk ups accepted

1.  Anyone displaying symptoms will not be allowed to participate

2.  All ride participants are asked to report if within 14 days of the ride they start showing signs of any illness or test positive for COVID-19

3.  Diamond BMX will have signs posted as riders arrive with the symptoms of COVID-19 they will go through the questions and if any of the self assessments answer yes to any questions they will not be allowed to participate. Signs will be as below:

Prior to all activities every person in attendance is required to self assess for COVID-19 symptoms listed below, if you are displaying any of these symptoms you or any person(s) with you may not participate or enter the track area:

  • Fever
  • Sore throat
  • Cough
  • Chills
  • Headache
  • Runny nose
  • Muscle and/or joint aches and pains
  • Nasal congestion


A parent or guardian (maximum of 2 per rider) must attend with rider(s) to practice ensuring the following is adhered to:

  • That the rider understands and practices social distance protocols at the track

  • So that the parent can enforce social distancing with their rider

  • To be available to go onto track if rider falls and is injured or needs assistance prior to first aid. There will not be volunteers (exception First Aid) on track due to social distance protocols. 

  • Riders must come ready to ride

  • Riders must bring all their own equipment and should also bring their own maintenance equipment (pump, spare tubes, tools) in the event of any mechanical issues. *please do not share your equipment with anyone outside your family unit.

  • Hand sanitization station will be available for parents and riders to use

  • Riders must not share food or drink with other rider families

  • Anyone displaying symptoms will not be allowed to participate.

  • All ride participants are asked to report if within 14 days of the ride they start showing signs of any illness or test positive for COVID-19.

  • All attendees of the event will be documented in the event that there is an outbreak all individuals present can be contacted accordingly

Diamond BMX board members have read and agreed to adhere to all Covid-19 protocols put into place to ensure safe riding for our members, board members and anyone involved.
