Diamond BMX has run a specialized team for past 2 years. Coach Kiran Kawa from On the Box Clinics in Alberta and Coach Niall Schofield of Diamond BMX were proud to partner on this initiative which provided extra coaching for riders showing advanced skills. All members of Team Diamond were successful in advancing their race times and skills on the track. This partnership also provided mentorship for all riders of Diamond BMX. As Coach Niall is now employed at the Team Sask BMX Coach, we are looking for another coach to take over this initiative and partner with Coach Kiran Kawa. This Coach does not have to be fully certified but working towards his/her coaching certification and be willing to lead practices in person for Team Diamond as guided and instructed by Coach Kiran Kawa. Both Coach Niall and Coach Kiran will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

For those of you who may not have met Coach Kiran Kawa. He is the coach behind On The Box Clinics. He has raced competitively for over a decade, and has coached a wide variety of athletes for the past 9 years – coaching many to national finishing titles. Kiran has his Bachelors of Education degree, is the head coach of Stony Plain BMX, and the YEG BMX high performance coach. Kiran and Coach Niall Schofield developed the Diamond BMX team two years ago and the results gained were tremendous with all athletes improving their overall times and skill levels. Kiran is ECSTATIC to bring his BMX knowledge back to Warman and have our race-team athletes CRUSH their goals!

Last year, cost to join the team was $200. However, this fee may increase depending on coaching fees and fundraising initiatives. Joining the Diamond BMX team allows for significant skill development through specialized coaching which includes individual rider diagnostics, tailored practices and training tips, and video analysis.

Team Practice will be weekly based on new Coach availability. Members can also attend regular practice on Monday’s to help mentor younger riders and gain extra practice time.
Tryouts for the Diamond BMX Team TBD once a coach is available.
